-XLVI-
The End of Jesus' Ministry to the Ancient Americans

One Week of Studies
  1. Recite Ether 12:6.
    Read 3 Nephi 24.
    • Now Jesus recites Malachi 3.
    • Verse 8: If you don't pay your tithing, it's like stealing from God.
    • Verse 10 & 11: Some wonderful blessings are promised if we pay our tithing.
    • Verses 14 & 15: Have you ever felt like this?
    Read 3 Nephi 25.
    • This is just like Malachi 4.
    • Verse 1: A person's roots are his ancestors and his branches are his posterity. How can a person be left without ancestors and posterity?
    • Verse 5: This was fulfilled April 3, 1836, when Elijah appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery to restore the sealing powers so that we can be with our ancestors and posterity forever.
    • Verse 6: Sing "The Hearts of the Children" (cs, p. []).

  2. Recite Alma 32:21.
    Read 3 Nephi 26.
    • Verse 3: What a wonderful history lesson that must have been!
    • Verses 6-12: Here Mormon mentions that most of the things that Jesus taught on this day are not in the Book of Mormon because we are not ready to know all of that. We can prepare ourselves to be ready by reading the scriptures we have and living our lives according to what we learn.

  3. Recite Alma 34:32-34.
    Read 3 Nephi 27:1-15.
    • Verses 5-8: This is why we are not the "Mormon" church, but we should identify ourselves as, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
    • Verse 15: Some people believe that in order to receive Eternal Life, we don't have to do anything more than believe in Jesus Christ, but his scripture says otherwise.

  4. Recite Alma 37:6-7.
    Read 3 Nephi 27:16-33.
    • Verses 16 & 17: What does it mean to endure to the end?
    • Verses 18 & 19: Recite the fourth Article of Faith.
    • Verse 27: Mark, copy, and memorize this verse. Write what it means to you.

  5. Recite 3 Nephi 27:27.
    Read 3 Nephi 28:1-12.
    • Verse 1: How would you answer this question?
    • Verse 12: This is the end of Jesus' post-mortal visits to the ancient Americans.

  6. Recite 3 Nephi 27:27.
    Read 3 Nephi 28:13-40.
    • Verses 17-22 & 37-40: These verses describe what it was like for the three Nephites who were translated. It sounds like the way everyone will be during the Millennuim.

  7. Recite 3 Nephi 27:27.
    Read 3 Nephi 29 & 30.
    • These chapters are Mormon talking directly to us in our day.
    • Chapter 30, verse 2: Jesus specifically told Mormon to write this verse. This is a call to repentance. Can you find something on this list that you can repent of?
