Helaman's Letter

One Week of Studies
  1. Recite Alma 37:35.
    Read Alma 56:1-20.
    • Chapters 56-58 are a letter that Helaman sent to Moroni.
    • Verse 14: Put the cities of Zeezrom, Cumeni, and Antiparah on the map.
    • Verse 18: Here is another battle won without fighting.


  2. Recite Alma 41:10.
    Read Alma 56:21-41.
    • Verses 30-33: [map]
    • Verses 35-41: [map]


  3. Recite Ether 12:6.
    Read Alma 56:42-57.
    • Verses 44-48: Perhaps many of the Stripling Warriors were teenagers. How many teenagers do you know that are as faithful, brave, and obedient as these boys? What about yourself?
    • Verses 49-50: [map]
    • Verse 51: Put Antipus on the Heroes/Anti-Heroes Chart.
    • Verses 52-54: [map]
    • Verses 55-56: Does this mean that if we are righteous enough we would be safe from harm?


  4. Recite Alma 32:21.
    Read Alma 57:1-15.
    • Verses 4 & 12: Here are two more battles won without bloodshed. This must be frustrating to the Lamanites. They wanted to fight and kill the Nephites. They were bloodthirsty.


  5. Recite Alma 34:32-34.
    Read Alma 57:16-36.
    • Verse 26: Does this mean that all the good people who died in battle didn't have enough faith?
    • Verses 16 & 17: [map]
    • Verses 18 & 19: [map]
    • Verses 20-22: [map]


  6. Recite Alma 37:6-7.
    Read Alma 58:1-25.
    • Verse 10: Many people in this type of situation might complain that God isn't helping them. Instead, the Nephite armies turned to God and prayed. They immediately received blessings, recorded in verses 11 & 12.
    • Verses 16 & 17: [map]
    • Verses 18 & 19: [map]
    • Verses 20-22: [map]


  7. Recite Alma 37:35.
    Read Alma 58:26-41.
    • Verse 26: [map]
    • Verse 27: [map]
